2 Friends Visit Buon Giorno, Tagaytay

My dear friend Stefi and I have been meeting for lunches more often these days. πŸ˜€ I really enjoy her company and love listening to all her stories and just having Β a grand time with her. She came to Makati to visit me last month to have lunch and in turn, our plan was to meet in Alabang for lunch today. As we spoke on the phone 2 nights ago, deciding on where to dine, I had a brilliant idea to check out Tagaytay. You see, Steffi and I don’t like going out of the confines of our “comfort zone” so to speak, we are both so similar in the likes that we try our best to steer clear of all traffic hotspots, and for me, long distances! Hehehe! As a part of my New Year’s resolution, I asked the Lord to really help me “step out” of my comfort zone and to teach me to be more patient and to re-learn how to relax and breathe. πŸ™‚ Β I thank God, that by His grace, I feel like I am slowly getting the hang of it. πŸ˜‰ Yaaaaay!

It was a beautiful day today. The sun was out, weather was good considering it was noon and the best part of it all…… hardly any traffic πŸ˜‰ hehehe.

On our way to tags, we still didn’t know where to eat. We kept “throwing” restaurant names at each other, calling friends, her son, and finally my sister in law, Michelle. We decided on Italian, and Buon Giorno was the place to be. Steffi has been there several times and a first for me. (No surprises there, huh? πŸ˜‰ ) The place was beautiful! I loved how it felt like a little quaint town with restaurants and shops, overlooking this gorgeous view of Taal Lake and Volcano! God’s beauty and Splendor is indeed…. AWESOME!!! πŸ˜€

We finally found our “spot” and decided to dine al fresco. I was excited. πŸ˜€ Β What a cute little resto it was. By the way, it got pretty full during our lunch. I’m glad we got there early!

Meet Chef Oliver Hermoso and Manager Baby Austria

They had 2 “opium beds” up for grabs for those who want to have a little more privacy. Cute for a date night. πŸ˜‰

Foccacia with olive oil balsamic vinegar and Parm cheese to start.

Buon Giorno’s Special Salad

Melanzane (Eggplant) Provolone. Reminded me of the dish I make at home. πŸ™‚

Ahhhh… this braised Lamb Shank, was so delightfully deeelish!! Β Stefi and I were ahhhing and ooooing as we took our first bite. Made me think of my mom, who loves lamb! I’ll take you to this place, when you get back, Mother Goose πŸ˜€

Spaghetti Alla E Olio This was ok…. the Lamb stole the show! πŸ˜›

We were happy that Mochiko had an outlet there. Perfect way to end a meal. Something cold, chewy and delicious! πŸ™‚

We had a great time in Tagaytay. I was so surprised to see that there are so many new places to try. 😯 We are already planning our next Tagaytay outing soon! Imagine that! πŸ˜‰ Here’s to good friends, good food and to Jesus, for making everything possible! πŸ˜€

See you soon Stef!!!! πŸ˜›

  1. Hey Pring! Jem and I love Buon Giorno πŸ™‚ We almost end up eating there every time whenever we’re in Tagaytay πŸ™‚

  2. Glad to see you guys out of the zone and exploring…and of course, missing you both …as always.

I remember this place , we visited it a while back when I was still in the Philippines.

In the evening, the place is enchanting. (The mochi though, looks more enchanting even in daylight.)

  3. Would like to visit the place but I don’t think I saw the address of the place at Tagaytay in this post.
