Personalized Classes for Kids in the Kitchen :)

A friend of mine was looking for cooking classes for her daughter and some of her friends. They wanted a small intimate class and wanted to choose their preferred menu for the day.  We discussed the module over facebook’s PM (hahaha aren’t a lot of stuff done on FB, these days 😉 ) and came up with the ff selections.

Classic Sansrival, Apple Pie with Streusel Topping, Turtle Pie and Russian tea cookies.

These kids were great and we all had a blast! 😀 Brought back so many wonderful memories of my cooking and teaching days, in Cooking Basics Culinary Studio, Alabang.  I truly enjoy teaching children because i find that it’s easier to teach them the fundamentals of cooking and baking, because they start off with a clean “slate”, and can teach them the proper way of doing things, like holding a knife, chopping with the “fingers in, knuckles out” technique, whipping, folding etc… I miss being a kid. 😦

My apologies for not taking photos of the finished products! 😯 Unbelievable, I know! tsk tsk tsk! Will post them on the next one, for sure!

Showing them the difference between soft and stiff peaks 🙂
Teaching them the proper folding technique
Spreading the meringue to get them ready for baking

Getting their Mise en Place together 🙂
Forming the russian tea cookies

I loved doing this when I was younger, flour all over the place! 😛

Haha! I miss being a kid! 😛

  1. Fun! Fun! Fun!
I remember the first thing I baked when I was a kid – Chocolate Cupcake!
So happy when it turned out OK at my first go.
    Congratulations, Pria!
Am sure you motivated these kids to pursue more baking! 🙂
    Cheers! 🙂

  2. This is wonderful! Is this the new teaching kitchen? You should have more classes, for you were and (are) a good teacher.
