Craving for a good homemade burger? Try this recipe out. Something simple, yet delicious. The best thing about this, is you can control what you put in your burger. 😋
Here goes…..
Picking the right kind of ground meat is crucial. It’s quite important to buy meat with fat. I know…. bad for the health, but this will make your burger juicylicious. 😍 The ground beef of choice for today’s burger is 80/20. 80% lean beef and 20% fat.
For my burgers, you will need fresh button mushrooms. This makes the burger juicy and keeps it moist. A nice bun, cheese of your choice and some scallions. Sorry forgot to put it in the photo.
Place ground beef on a bowl. Add sliced mushrooms, scallions, salt and pepper to taste. You can even add your preferred steak seasoning if you wish. Mix well to combine, making sure not to over work the meat. This will make the meat tough. Form into patties and make an indent at the center of the burger. This keep the meat from puffing up in the center while cooking.
In s skillet, add some olive oil. Make sure the skillet and oil is hot before adding the beef patty. Cook on one side making sure not to push down with your spatula. This will make all those yummy juices run out of the meat. Cook the meat on one side for about 3-4 minutes. Flip once and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Once burger is almost done top with cheese and pour about 2-3 tablespoons of water into the hot pan and immediately cover. This will make it steam and will aid in melting the cheese. Once melted, remove and place on toasted bun with your favorite condiments.
Here are my faves. 😀 Onions, tomatoes, dill pickles, dijon mayo, provolone cheese and ketchup.
500 grams ground beef
3-4 pcs mushrooms
1 pc scallion
1 pc tomato
1 pc onion
4 pcs dill pickles
