My dear son, Andrew took over the kitchen tonight as he decided to cook dinner for us. What a sweetie! 😀 His timing couldn’t have been more perfect as I was not feeling too well. Thanks, Drew! 😉
I am so happy that Andrew likes to cook. I remember him cooking and baking with me while he was growing up and it pleases me to see that he is very comfortable in the kitchen and enjoys it at that! 😀 Looking back, I have many fond memories of us cooking together. At 19, he can cook for me everyday! 😉
Step 1: Peel shrimps, season with salt and pepper and set aside.
Garlic and Calamansi (you can use lemon or lime as well) Andrew used a whole head of garlic for his shrimps. You can use as much or as little as you want. 🙂
Place garlic in a mortar with some rock salt, and pound until completely smashed, Good way to get rid of stress and any form of aggression! 😉 heheheheh
Heat a non stick skillet and add shrimps. ( please make sure that your pan is hot before adding the shrimps). Toss until shrimps start to turn slightly pink.
Add the garlic and cook for about 2 minutes. Add the soy sauce (kikkoman) and squeeze calamansi (or lemon/lime). Continue cooking until done. Please make sure not to overcook the shrimps or they will be tough 😯
Voila! Andrew’s Garlic Shrimps. Super easy and deeeelish! 😛 Serve with rice and sauteed veggies or with crusty bread.
